As many saw last night, Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion late in Miami’s Thursday Night Football matchup against the Bills. This is Tua’s 4th major concussion since being drafted to the NFL. And let’s be honest, at this point, any concussion is a major one for him.
The concussion came on a broken play where Tua scrambled for a first down. Unfortunately, Tua decided to try and truck Damar Hamlin for extra yards, however, instead took a direct shot to the head and neck when he collided with Hamlin’s lower body. Tua immediately went down and his hands appeared to be posturing, similar to last season when he was knocked out with a concussion.
Tua is young, yes. However, at what point is enough enough? These types of injuries are going to ruin this young man’s quality of life in the future. Is it time for Tua to retire to protect his health?
