The 2024 Sprint Car off-season has been a turbulent and wildly busy affair so far. We’ve seen teams like Buch Motorsports replace their long time driver Justin Peck with a young hotshoe in Daison Pursley. This silly season has been the craziest one in recent years. While the 410 Sprint Car world is no stranger to seeing tons of driver movement during and after the season but this year has been hectic with the 3 major driver changes and the major free agent drivers left potentially without a ride for 2025.
● CJB Motorsports #5: Hired Brenham Crouch, Fired Spencer Bayston.
The always changing #5 of the Pennsylvania based CJB Motorsports car seems to have found it’s next driver in the young Texan Brenham Crouch. Crouch joins Spencer Bayston, Paul McMahon, Buddy Kofoid, and Brent Marks as the drivers of the CJB #5 since 2020. The decision to move on from Bayston comes in a year where the Lebanon,IN native finished 8th in High Limit Racing points. Crouch finished 16th in Point with High Limit and struggled to find any consistency in 2024. The aforementioned Paul McMahon is being brought on as a mentor for the young Crouch. CJB Motorsports is hoping that a driver swap will help secure the ever so important HLR charter that’s available by getting a top 5 in points in 2025.
Buch Motorsports: Hired Daison Pursley, Fired Justin Peck.
The Buch Motorsports #13 made a decision to move on from a successful partnership with Justin Peck after 3 seasons together. A truly shocking move of Peck getting canned after a good 2024 campaign with Justin finishing 6th in High Limit points with a win late in the season at Eldora. His replacement Pursley is coming off a successful 2024 in multiple classes of cars with 10 total wins on the year. The 19 year old Oklahoman Pursley will enter an extremely good situation for a driver to enter with good equipment and a good crew around him to set him to succeed.
● Rudeen Racing: Hired Justin Peck, Fired Zeb Wise.
The curious case of the Rudeen Racing #26 machine is an interesting case. Zeb Wise was just one season removed from winning the All Star Circuit of Champions title in 2023 before getting on the High Limit trail and finishing a respectable 11th in points in 2024. Wise struggled majorly in 2024 with High Limit and couldn’t find any sort of momentum to build off. Owner Kevin Rudeen is hoping that swapping one Hoosier for another Hoosier in Peck is the right move to get the team another championship caliber season in 2025.
● Free Agent Drivers looking for a ride* (*Drivers may have not officially announced plans for 2025)
There are some top flight guys looking for a car to drive in 2025 but with limited openings these guys appear to be on the outside looking in.
