As Devils Training Camp is here and underway, I want to provide you with mine and other Devils fan pages predictions for the record of the team, a breakout player candidate, and the top point scorer in the upcoming 24-25 season!

Let’s start out with mine

Record: 48-27-7

Breakout Player: Simon Nemec

Top Point Scorer: Jack Hughes 115 points

Despite getting banged up in the IIHF World Championship Tournament Simon Nemec seems poised to break out and become a young force on the Devils blueline for years to come. Nemec has an Elite Work Ethic and willingness to succeed at a high level. He’s in a prime position to solidify a Devils team that needs a true Two Way Defenseman.

Next up is one of the biggest pages on Instagram for NJ Devils updates @DevilsFanatics :

Record: 49-27-6

Breakout Player: Simon Nemec

Top Point Scorer: Jack Hughes 102 points

Jack Hughes seems motivated and excited to rebound from an injury ridden 23-24 campaign that limited him to just 62 games and 74 points on the season. The elder Hughes in NJ should be a perfect fit in Sheldon Keefe’s system and will be a major contributer in the offense per usual.

We turn to another big Instagram NJ Devils page for these predictions @Devils.Report:

Record: 48-29-5

Breakout Player: Paul Cotter

Top Point Scorer: Jack Hughes

The newly acquired Paul Cotter from Vegas has already won over Devils fans with his known ability to throw the body and be a very effective bottom 6 forward. Cotter has racked up 418 hits in just 3 seasons in the league. He seems ready and willing to step up and be a huge physical presence in a New Jersey bottom 6 that desperately needed physicality last year.

Next up is the one and only @TheBrattPack63 on X:

Record: 49-23-10

Breakout Player: Timo Meier

Top Point Scorer: Jack Hughes

Bratt Pack decided to use the breakout player candidate as a spot to highlight a massive bounce back player in Timo Meier. Meier going into his 2nd full season as a Devil needs to prove last year was a fluke year for him. It appeared after the firing of coach Lindy Ruff that Timo really showed up and started to play. After Ruff’s firing in late February, Timo preceeded to score 17 goals and 9 assists in the games to end the season after Ruff was let go. If the Swiss Forward can keep that type of production up under coach Keefe, he’ll be primed to show that he’s a guy to help carry this team to the next level.

@nhlchips on Instagram is up next for predictions:

Record: 48-24-10

Breakout Player: Nico Hischier

Top Point Scorer: Jack Hughes 109 points

Hischier after being the 1st overall pick in 2017 has lived up to expectations and then some. The Swiss Centerman has proven to an Elite Two Way Forward, an incredible Captain, and invaluable piece to the Devils identity as an organization. The Captain is coming off of 3 straight 60+ point seasons including an 80 point campaign in 22-23. If Hischier can be incredibly consistent self, the Devils will benefit greatly from it.

Last but certainly not least is @JesperBruhqvist on Instagram:

Record: 51-22-9

Breakout Player: Jesper Bratt

Top Point Scorer: Jack Hughes 110 points

Bruhqvist choosing Bratt has his breakout player candidate is an extremely interesting choice. The Swedish Forward has been one of the most consistently good point producers since the 2021-2022 season. The past 3 seasons have resulted in 3 straight 73+ point seasons including an 83 point season this past year. Bratt is starting to show why the Devils locked him up to an eight year 63 million dollar deal after the 2022-2023 season. If Jesper can continue his consistent 70+ point seasons he’ll be a great complimentary piece to linemates like Hughes and Hischier for the extended future.

As you can see the Devils community is very confident in having a great record after the new additions to the team seem to definitely make them better! We are also very confident in Jack Hughes’ abilities to lead this team to glory this season!
